P1-04 THRILLER ROUGHCUT

Tuesday, 21 October 2008

Opening sequence sounds

We started to make our opening sequence sounds and with that we had to find suitable sound affects and loops that would go with a thriller sequence. sound affects that we need to use are things such as gasps and screams, also when making the actual track things like piano or strings would be best used as it would be alot more creepy when combined. also things like

Preperation

We prepared for the filming by getting the props that we needed together the props and costume pieces we needed were:
*Fake Blood
*Knife
*Towel
*Mask
*Candle
*Radio
*Dressing gown

We got all of that together and prepared our location.
Our main location was a bathroom in a house and we prepared that location by making it basic. Also we filmed outside and for that we didn't need to do anything.

mirrors trailer influential for our thriller

we felt that it had good camera work and the editing techniques between shots was very affective. Also it had good ideas for a opening sequence even though it was a trailer.

taken trailer

the soundtrack on this is very affective and adds to the drama that builds up and makes you want to watch more, also the split screen camera work works very well as you can see the action that is happening in both shots. its affective as it is very cathing and action packed.

Camera work: The camera work was very good and varied they use long shots, mid shots etc also when they used the shots of the army that was very clever.

Editing: The editing was also good and slick teh gaps of changing scene were good and set the mood.

Soundtrack: The soundtrack was good and it had the scary music in it along with the army drums and it ties in with the pictures and the start and the clips towards the end.
